So I made my way from Prague to Berlin where I stayed at the St Christopher's inn. It was an amazing hostel where one day I spent all day with friends I had planned to meet up with and then the next day spent meeting new friends. I saw a lot of things in Berlin but by far my favourite thing I saw was the East Side gallery of the Berlin wall! I had plenty of food my 2 days spent here and I highly recommend the free tour from the NewBerlin tour company, very informative and the tour guide was amazing! Next stop: Copenhagen!
Some old fashioned German currywurst (it's like bratwurst but with curry) and it was delicious!
For lunch I had some German pork goulash which was surprisingly really filling. And I didn't even mind the heaping amounts of red cabbage in it too.
One of the many beautiful artworks at the East Side Gallery, of the Berlin Wall. This is actually the biggest outdoor gallery in the world and really believe it! It was such a beautiful walk with so many inspiring works of art.
This one is one of my favourite works on the gallery. I love the use of colour and lines to form such a distinct piece of art. And this was just a bit of it, the actual work stretched out much longer than this!
The simplicity of the colours used and design make this piece really stand out for me. Plus the way the artist used the colours in such a contrast to one another adds depth to the already beautiful work.
This is the first gap in the East Side Gallery, where West and East Germany separated. Even in this picture you can see such a contrast to both sides. It's a little haunting to realize how much history surrounds you.
Just some funny people playing around, performing for tourists. They weren't asking for money so I wasn't to sure what they wanted to achieve, either way it was cute for a bit
There were so many amazing quotes written on the gallery which all had their own impact on people. This one was one of my favourites.
Pretty obvious what this one means. But still very cool!
When I met up with my friends (who I haven't seen in ages) we decided to go for Vietnamese food for dinner. It was a nice reminder of what home feels like.
I had to of course get some froyo when I found they had some! IT was so good and delicious
The train station, leaving and coming from Berlin to all over Europe
The tickets to catch the metro/underground whatever you call it.
In the centre of the Tiergarten stood this beautiful statue. It was the perfect place to take a nice afternoon nap!
My room!
Now during my tour, our tour guide brought us to this place. It was the middle of a parking lot in a pretty residential area. But right where I was standing was where Hitler's bunker once was. Of all the places I went to in Berlin, this was one of the most haunting; to imagine just a couple of decades ago, this was where Hitler took his own life was astounding to me.
